Better Late Than Never

We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary on Friday.  Because we were in Kansas City for John’s ordination into the ministry, we enjoyed a nice evening out on the Plaza while Rick and Jan bathed and bedded the boys.

Quite a bit has happened since our last post, so lets take a look at the year in review.  I hope its not too overwhelming!

Gunner grew out of his red boots…

…and into John’s old brown boots.  They had slits in the front and back so John’s chubby legs could fit in them when he was a baby.  You know John and his chubby leg issues.

We were blessed to welcome two new babies on the Powell side of the family.  Hannah Badgett had Levi James Badgett.  The Powell/Summers/Badgett quiver is filling right up!

Bennett Hartford Powell was born on January 10, 2011, weighing in at 7lbs 5oz, 20 in long.

We pray for Gunner and Bennett’s brotherhood to grow deep in the many years to come, Lord willing.  Here they are meeting for the first time:

Notice how Bennett is keeping the cowboy boot tradition alive:

Gunner turned two with a birthday cake at Nana’s house…

…right about the time he grew out of John’s old boots and into another pair from his Texas great-grandparents, Papa and MirMir…

… some time before or after he began his obsession with Gunsmoke, John Wayne and Rhinos.  (One of these things is not like the other)
